  • The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Post-Master’s certificate program prepares nurses to provide effective care for patients with complex psychiatric and physical health needs. PMHNPs work with individuals and families to develop a diagnosis and then design, implement and monitor a plan of care. Responsibilities can also include prescribing medication and administering psychotherapy.

    This program is offered fully online, and requires students to attend a two-day virtual, synchronous program intensive to network with cohort members, meet faculty and personally experience the high-quality culture and competence of the University of Cincinnati. Admissions requirements include an active, unrestricted current United States RN license; BSN with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale; completion of an undergraduate statistics course with a 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; science GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; and an MSN degree in an advanced practice specialty.
